Wireless sensors for greenhouses, tunnel houses and plant nurseries
Smart, scalable, sensor network goes where others cannot.
Get a clearer picture of your greenhouse climate!
Under pressure to deliver higher yields and better quality produce, growers need more information to determine crop status than ever before. FarmRoad's wireless sensor network provides remote monitoring solutions for greenhouses, tunnel houses, and plant nurseries, offering a comprehensive understanding of climate and environment in real-time.
Deploying these sensors in the recommended grouping significantly increases data points, offering a clearer understanding of the climate variations across your growing environment
Trusted by horticulture leaders worldwide
The FarmRoad greenhouse sensor monitors six separate climate readings
Ideal for measuring climate and environmental conditions in greenhouses, poly tunnels or other covered crop growing spaces, FarmRoad's greenhouse sensors integrate multiple sensors within a single unit. These sensors automatically track crucial climate parameters, eliminating the need for manual measurements. Each unit measures: Air Temperature, Relative Humidity (RH), CO2 levels, PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) light, RAD (Solar Radiation) light, and Barometric Pressure (BP).
“The kind of information you can get from this sensor is so important, it's a no-brainer not to have one.”
Guillermo Diguiseppe, Agronomist at Season Farms
Improve production with insights into plant stress
Plant stress is a key factor which affects fruit production. Adding a plant temperature sensor to your FarmRoad greenhouse sensor network setup gives you visibility over current plant stress levels. This sensor provides precise temperature and actual Vapour Pressure Deficit (VPD) readings, crucial for better understanding and control of plant conditions.
Growers have found that in some cases the difference between air temperature and plant temperature can be as much as 7 degrees Celsius. This variance underlines the importance of knowing the exact temperature of your plant rather than estimating it using air temperature. When you’re trying to determine how much plant stress is too much, the plant temperature sensor gives you far greater insight and control.
Optimize irrigation with moisture sensors
Increase quality and yield through better irrigation management using real-time data from our soil/substrate moisture sensors. There’s no guesswork on which plants are being overwatered and which are in need. By utilizing the soil/substrate moisture sensors, watering schedules can be adjusted accordingly to improve crop quality and harvest weights, and you reduce costs by using less water and less energy to run pumps.
The moisture sensor has been pre-calibrated for the following: Cococoir Pelemix, Coco peat, Soil, Rockwool Grodin and Rockwool Cutilene.
View greenhouse climate across multiple locations
With multiple farm sites over hundreds of hectares, lack of visibility of farm climates as a whole is an issue for many farm managers. Often key information is only available per-site, and cannot be combined with data from other sites. This siloed approach means climate performance data for greenhouses as a whole is not easily accessible to farm management.
Using FarmRoad’s sensor network is perfect for greenhouse monitoring at scale. Visualize data through heatmaps, graphs, or tables to manage climate at multiple greenhouse locations.
