San Francisco / Auckland - June 11, 2026: WayBeyond today announced the launch of FarmRoad Agronomy Intelligence, giving protected cropping growers AI-powered daily action plans that turn farm data into specific, timely guidance so teams can anticipate crop risks and act before they escalate into losses.
FarmRoad Agronomy Intelligence was developed in close partnership with WayBeyond customers resulting in a solution that identifies emerging crop risks and recommends the next actions that farm teams should take each day. By closing the loop from data to insight to action, it gives growers the ability to make better decisions faster.
The AI-powered action plan includes:
- Prescriptive daily recommendations that help teams respond faster to climate-driven crop risks
- Hyperlocal climate forecasting with up to 97% accuracy for protected growing environments, including tunnels and greenhouses
- Mobile push alerts that deliver each day's priorities directly to growers and farm workers, wherever they are on the farm.
“Most growers today aren’t short on data. They’re short on the clarity to act on information at the right moment,” said Daniel Than, Customer Success Director at WayBeyond. “Unlike traditional reporting tools that focus on what has already happened, this solution combines farm data with hyperlocal climate forecasts to anticipate what is likely to happen next. This gives growers the confidence to plan ahead and manage their crops proactively rather than reactively.”
Enabling faster responses to crop management challenges
Changing climates are leading to more frequent and unpredictable weather extremes, with a single heatwave having the potential to cut a farm’s crop production by up to 50%.
Growers need timely, actionable insights into their environmental conditions to effectively manage crops. Yet across most farming operations, daily crop decisions still depend heavily on an experienced agronomist to interpret conditions and advise farm teams on what actions to take. When that expertise is stretched across multiple sites or simply unavailable, critical interventions get delayed, often resulting in crop damages or losses.
FarmRoad Agronomy Intelligence bridges this gap by automatically analyzing the latest data and providing clear agronomic guidance that can be verified quickly for teams to act on each day. This gives growers the predictive intelligence needed to anticipate risks and intervene earlier.
Agronomy Intelligence leverages FarmRoad’s hyperlocal climate forecasting, which uses a combination of sensors, satellite data, and AI to predict climate conditions for protected cropping environments. It provides recommendations that are tailored to each customer’s crop varieties, local environment, and growing conditions, giving teams personalized, context-aware guidance rather than just generic outputs.
“Generic AI tools give generic advice” said Dr. Mpatisi Moyo, Head of Artificial Intelligence at WayBeyond. “FarmRoad Agronomy Intelligence draws on the full operational context of each farm — the crop variety, local climate, production setup, and growing environment — to deliver recommendations that are specific, actionable, and grounded in real growing conditions."
Agronomy Intelligence is available now as a module within the FarmRoad platform. The daily AI-powered action plan is delivered through the FarmRoad mobile app, giving growers and farm workers access to the recommendations and notifications wherever they are working.
